Undine part IV - Espousal

The espousal was not held in the main kingdom where the king attended it, not in a town with the lovely citizen, not in a cathedral with its romantic candles and embellishing flowers nor in a beach either with its exquisite ambience and wondrous sunset.

My wedding ceremony was not a big one, yet quite an exquisite and dreamy one.

It was held in a garden in lakefront deep in the forest where a flower arch stood elegantly, the arch was made out of hydrangea flowers, tinted in mint-green,some shaded with white and some shaded with light beryl blue. Some blue roses sparkled because of the dew also prettify the place. And the lake, it was shimmering because of the gleaming sun which gave a perfect warmth ambience.

Lawrence and I had decided to make it a private some sort of secret wedding that was why not many creatures came, even no human was invited. Only some dryads, naiads, satyrs and a few minor Gods came. Oh, and of course there was Peter the beloved horse.

I wore an Aquamarine colored Greek tunic made out of silk. My hair was loosely braided and I wore a greek leaf-crown in the top of my head too. And Lawrence too wore a simple tunic and a leaf crown.

We started the ceremony when the sun was about to set. As the warm yellow-orange citrine sun light gleamed, dazzling the whole forest, our friends stood around us, Lawrence made an vow,

" I, Lawrence Caerus hereby to take Undine as my wife, my love, and the only one who shall complete my life. I shall be her sun in the sky who gives her warmth, and the moon who shines through the darkest night. I shall give her protection, love and affection whether she's right or wrong. I swear each and every breath of my life, I shall love her with all my heart from now until forever and ever, until death do us apart."

tears of happiness fell down from my eyes through my cheek. Lawrence put the ring in my ring finger, and the ceremony was ended with a gentle kiss. And I'm officially Lawrence's wife.

The sun had set below the horizon, twilight turned to dusk, the forest was brighten with some lantern and fireflies. Our small gala was still held a little bit deeper from the lakefront. Whilst some were still dancing merrily, eating the feast, and chattering with others talkatively, Lawrence asked me to go with him.

He told me to close my eyes and then he guided me to a place where you can smell the scent of water and flower odor. He told me to open my eyes and I realized he took me back to the place where the flower arch stood, it looked different a little bit, the place become a dark saphire-colored with some white lines of the moonlight's reflection and stars blistered in the sky. The dew in the trees and flowers sparkled because of the moon light. The best night ever in my life.

Lawrence asked me for a dance, and of course I said yes. As the symphony of nature played, giving us a wondrous harmony, we waltzed near the lakefront, sharing each other our happiness. I loved him with all my heart, my soul and every breath that I have. He would be my one and only in my life, my soulmate, my love, my everything.

Time flew by, we stopped dancing, we stood and we stared at each other as some fireflies came, giving us small romantic lights. he whispered in my left ear,"After years I've been asking myself, what is my purpose living in this world, today I have the answer, I was born to tell you I love you" and I could only smile at him for a reply. Under the flower arch with many fireflies around us giving warmth, ecstatic feelings commingled with love, the night finally sealed with a passionate kiss.

Undine part III - Dalliance

Who could have known we ended up seeing each other every night? well not really really every night, there were days Lawrence had to go to another kingdom to do something. I didn't really know his job actually, all I know that he's a knight. He ever told me about some wars, but I knew there hadn't been any recently, so I guessed he's just delivering message to the other kingdom, or maybe buying things for the king.

It's not that I'm materialistic,but I loved it so much whenever he brought me gifts from the other place. He ever bought me a necklace which pendant was a white heart swirled with green strings. It was made out of diamonds and gemstones. lovely isn't it? He said that the heart was mine and he was the green strings which looked like mint who would always keep my day freshened.

He ever gave me a piece of white flower which smelled lovely, he asked me whether I knew that flower or not and unfortunately I didn't know what it was although it looked tremendously beautiful. he told me to asked the dryad and I did exactly as he said and guess what, my friend Khelrish,the super attractive dryad jumped when she saw that flower.

I wondered why and she told me that the flower's name is arbutus ( as known as arbutis ) people wouldn't be able to look for it, in the flower shops, in the fields, anywhere. As some said that flower was a sacred one, kept and bloomed in the Persephone's garden. And only people who was completely in love would be given the chance to have one. And unless he gave it to the one he really love, the flower shall die. Did that mean he's really in love with me? From that story, who wouldn't fall for him? My heart melted and I couldn't stop smiling all day long.

Although he gave me all of those beautiful gifts, still, they hardly covered my pain of missing him, every time he went to those other kingdoms, it would take 3 until 4 days. And it always made me sad for not seeing him for days. The feelings i couldn't bear, missing him, wanting him, needing him, sometimes those gifts weren't worth enough.

Okay, enough with the gifts. I just love being with him. He could give me those warmth affection, feeling of being completely secure, the feeling of being needed, he gave me all of those feelings a girl would need. He was my drug, my addictive heroine, my dope who made my day, the esctasy which gave me spirit. He was the sweetest thing in the world that I ever got, he was the sun in my bright sky, my sweetest dream which made me want to sleep all the time, my water in my ocean, the wind which I used to breathe, the soul in my empty body, the lyrics in my song, the incubus in my nightmare, my thunder when my whole world is raining, my shining star in the deep dark sky, he was my everything.

It was another night we spent together. He had just came back from those unknown kingdom or what so ever they called it, I'd been wanting him for days, he came with a bouquet of white roses and of course Peter is with him. Sometimes i missed that blithering horse, sometimes i thanked him too remembering unless he didn't lick me, Lawrence and I wouldn't be together right now.

Lawrence started our night by telling his journey, he said there were lots of gypsies there. Jokers, jugglers and et cetera. Well it sounded nice, and he said, in the last kingdom, there were a garden of labyrinth. The king made a competition, the first one who could get out of that labyrinth will be given a luxurious prize, a prize which the king got from Shiva, the goddess of ice.

Lawrence entered it and it was hell of a competition. Lawrence said that the labyrinth was really tricky, you know, he got lost for a few times, not few, lots of times. If you took a wrong step, you will start from the beginning again. And of course, as you all have guessed, he won! He got out of that amusing labyrinth after 2 days being stuck in it.Well I asked him what the prize was and he wouldn't answer. There he goes, playing secrets again. But I didn't really care as long as he's with me now.

Twilight had passed hours ago, the stars sprinkled the sky with their sparkling light. A cloudless bright sky, the wind chilled slowly, the candles were getting dim and it was a romantic night. He sang a song, love song, and he read me a poem. And he whispered me something "If your heart was a house, I'd be home. And if my house was a compass, you'd be north. I love you" I loved it. I loved his sweet words, I loved his poems, I loved his voice, I loved every little piece of him, I loved him. We kissed and as we did that, the sky was rained by lights, there were meteor shower. Lines of bright light glittering the sky, made the moment even more perfect. As the meteor was still raining,and I was still mesmerized by it. he took my hand and put something on my finger,when I realized a blue-topaz ring is on my finger, he whispered on my left ear,"will you marry me?"

Undine part II - Infatuated

As I hovered behind the stone, whilst being under a spell of that charming knight, I forgot that animals have such a sharp instinct. As I gazed the knight, something tickled me right on the spot. It was the knight's horse who had been licking me, thinking that i was just another water in the waterfall. And I spontaneously laughed! For the name of Poseidon! I think you know what happened then.

Of course, the knight stopped washing his face and started to gawk to his horse's location. I hid under the water at the speed of light. My pulse beat faster and faster and i found myself having a trouble for breathing. I closed my eyes, hoping that the horse would just go to any place or maybe the knight wouldn't come near his horse, which was still licking me right now. For the sake of Poseidon, please let me live.

A few hearbeats later, my wishes, both of it came true. But it didn't give me any luck. So, it was like, the horse did go, and the knight didn't come near the horse's position. But this is the story which made me scared to death, made me angry and made me petrified. And the beginning of my deadly precious love story.

The horse went to his master, the knight, and despite just sitting around under the tree, it pulled the knight's clothes with it's mouth to my hiding place. I thought i was safe when the horse went away, I thought it would just leave me alone, let me live the rest of my life happily. But life doesn't always go as we want. The knight walked along the horse and eventually he was brought to my spot. Although at first he didn't realize that there was me hiding with great unease, his damn horse bit my aqueous dress and of course spontaneously I screamed and hit the horse's mouth! ( although the horse didn't seem to feel hurt, even a little bit ) But as humans are smart creatures, the knight heard my scream and he also felt my presence and he seemed to be, um, a little bit shocked to see me. Well, let's assume that maybe he had never seen a water nymph before.

As I felt that he was shocked to see me, I swiftly went back under the water. And I thought I heard the knight called me, wanting me to stay, but i abandoned him, I was too nervous to be summoned right in front of him that time. That's why i thought by going back to the water was the best choice. So that the knight and his horse couldn't find me.

Dusk had changed to dawn, I spent the rest of my night under the water which turned sparkling blue by the ray of blue moon, wondering had he gone to other place or not, or was he still up there. I couldn't spent my night peacefully that time. It was all full of intrigue. For hours I'd been thinking about going up or not. I wanted to see him, but still, I was so afraid of him, but I wanted to be under his spell again.

In the end, when the sun had arisen, I came up again, and I found him sleeping under the tree. His face looked so peaceful, it seemed like he's been having a sweet dream. He looked so appealing, he made me wanted to touch him, to feel his skin, to play with his hair and to kiss him.

After gawking at him for a few heartbeats, I was being under his spell again. The pleasant seduction he gave me by only seeing him from the distance made me lose control. My body was filled of uncontrolled desire of touching him, the insanity subjugated me, my common sense had gone away until nothing was left, I think I was hypnotized. With my blank mind, I got out of the water, walked right through the green grasses around the waterfall and I perambulated towards him, whilst fascinated by his look.

It was all full of pleasure, being right beside him, touching him, gazing his face, playing with his hair, whispering right as his ears, sitting right at his laps, his sensual virile body really really crazed me.

As I was having fun with the sleeping knight, I'd forgotten something. Something was missing around here. It felt kind of weird, but I didn't care about it, all I know was that this was a life time opportunity, having control upon a man like this. And all of a sudden, the cursed missing thing, that bloody blundering horse licked me and I screamed again (damn!)

Of course eventually the knight got awaken. And I was petrified, I didn't know what to do! My hand was still fondling his face. As the horse knew that his master had already been alert by my appearance, that horse went away again and my eyes met the knight's eyes.

The sun had arisen and it illuminated the forest with warm light, turning the morning dew into diamond-sparkles. We stared at each other for quite a long time. I didn't know what was on his mind, but as soon as i was conscious, I quickly stood up and ran towards the water.

Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough, the knight had been holding my hand for quite a long time because now I'd realized that my hand was hot. He told me to stay. And I just followed what he said. I lowered my body, and I sat right beside him with the fastest pulse ever.

He asked my name, when I told him my name is Undine, he said that it was a very very beautiful name. And he told me I was pretty, and I can see it in his eyes that he was actually a little bit interested in me. As I couldn't stop staring at the ground, he couldn't stop gazing my face either. And of course I was so shy that I started to blush and of course, he laughed at me.

I thought he was bored as I didn't start any conversation. He had been the one who talked first and I didn't actually replied him long enough. I didn't know what to say! My head, it was all full of anxiety that he would just leave me alone because I was not pleasing him enough. But, it seemed that he's enjoying his time with me.

He asked me what I was, because he had been wondering how come I could hide under the water for hours. He told me he waited for me to come up again from the water for hours until he fell asleep that night. It was totally so sweet of him and I was totally flattered. I told him that I'm a water nypmh, of course I could stay under water for hours, I was made by it, summoned of it. And it seemed that his face was full of intrigue.

Next thing, he said he came from a far away land where there were mighty dragons and unicorns in the forest. Griffins and hippogryphs were easy to find in the air, lands where the king was a true king, land of peace. He was one of the king's most believed knights. And because peace had been there for decades, he got bored there and he went for some adventure. And yesterday, his body was too fatigue as he'd been riding his horse for days. Oh yeah, his bloody horse's name was Peter.

After a few stories, he looked a little bit shy, his face blushed pinkly and he looked so cute that I couldn't bear to held my laugh. he asked me why I laughed and I told him that he looked cute when he was blushing, and I asked him back why he was blushing. And he told me he was blushing because of my beauty. He said that I was the most beautiful creature ever. Even no one in his country was as beautiful as I was. And I was flattered again.

For hours we had been talking, he said that he needed to be somewhere else and he promised me that he would be back by afternoon. I was so happy by his promise and I blushed again and again. He smirked at my blushing and he made me fell for him for the second time. I was so lucky that I could meet him.

After finished preparing his saddle, and before riding up his horse, he gave me a peck and I was completely silenced by it. When my mouth was opened, he touched my lips with his finger and ssshh me. And of course, my mind was still lost because of that quick kiss. He quickly rode up his horse, sat on the saddle and started to walk away slowly.

He walked slowly, and I forgot to ask his name! I was panic, completely panic, but suddenly,he turned his back and he waved his hand, and with a smirked in his face, he said to me "It's Lawrence"

Undine part I - The Prefatory

If you think my story is only a fairy tale, you are wrong, you are completely wrong. People may say that i do not exist, I am only a myth, something that you can only imagine,but if you really want to know, I do exist. I mean, I did exist, not until I died because of love.

I was named Undine, I was not born like you humans, because I was not a human, I was a nymph, a water nymph, or, as you may say, a water spirit, a creature without a soul, who lived on our proper place. I was summoned from the water, the pure water.

We, water nymphs, appeared much more like a fairy, except that fairies lived on the ground. They had their tiny beautiful transparent wings which was used to fly among the trees. We lived on the water, but not the sea. Only mermaids lived on the sea. We only lived on the forest pools or maybe the waterfall.

I was also well known as Undina and Ondine, but i still prefer to be named Undine. I was actually one of the most beautiful water nymphs among the others. I was summoned with a long hair, a long silky hair, my skin is the fairest of all and I got the best saphire eyes. many other nymphs envied my beauty, but I thought many nymphs were more beautiful than me.

Sometimes, I loved to accessorized my self with a candle crown in my head. At dusk and dawn, i loved to go to the surface, I loved to illuminate the waterfall with my candle crown. And I always brought my harp with me, the harp which Poseidon gave to me. The plants and the other water creature were always pleased to hear the sound of my music. And sometimes, me and the others loved to perform an ensemble. It was all full of joy and happiness.

That was my world, full of pleasant things that I couldn't even describe it well enough. It was all perfect until one day, one twilight which almost turned to dusk, the sky was really really perfect. Clouds turned from orange to red and later turned to purple in the great blue sky. It was all a perfect harmony, completed with the tranquility around there, I was hovering in the surface, playing my harp and until out of a sudden, I heard something moving on the ground.

A sound of horseshoe was beating constantly. At first it was all a total blur, I couldn't hear it well. And it was about a moment later, the sound was coming towards me. For a while, i gazed at the forest, overwhelmed with anxiety and the will to know who or what was coming. Finally, a horse with it's saddle and his master came up. At first, I could not see what they looked like. As my vision was a total blear, I only saw a knight. At first, the anxiety filled me with such terror that i went under the water again. For me, i thought it was better to stay away to human, as some said they were so hideous.

But, my will-to-know the look of the knight beat up my anxiety. I scurried to the back of a big rock, near the place the knight stood. And with a little bravery I took a peek from there. And as I saw them close enough, I saw the horse was taking a break and it was having a sip of water from the waterfall. And the knight, he was looking at the water and washing his face. As he stood up and looked to the beauty at the waterfall. I could see his face perfectly.

His face was the most handsome face I've ever saw. I could see it from his face that he was friendly, but yet he looked like he wouldn't give any magnanimity for his opponent. His eyes were as sharp as the eagle and the color was as green as emerald. And his lips, only by looking at it, I knew he's a good kisser.

At that time, I felt as I was being cast under a spell. His great handsomeness had completely made me gone day-dreaming. I couldn't get my eyes of him. His charm enchanted me with great pleasant seduction.

When I was awaken from his spell , I knew it that I am already crazed by him. I needed him. I wanted to be right by his side. I wanted to have him. I wanted to kiss him, to feel his touch, to conquer his mind, to make myself the only one he needs. And as a water fairy with great beauty, I knew I could have him. I knew what I want and I knew he was going to be mine.
